I just watched the Belmont Stakes horse race and Da’ Tara was the winner by far. Way to go! Da’ Tara is a three-year-old colt bred by WinStar Farm, LLC. His jockey was Alan Garcia who is originally from Lima, Peru and currently resides in Tinton Falls, New Jersey. Da’ Tara’s trainer is Nick Zito, who upset another Triple Crown attempt - Smarty Jones’ 2004 attempt. What a great team!
Don’t get me wrong, it would have been cool for there to be another Triple Crown winner. I enjoy talent, ability, and perseverance. I like to see excellence in the world in which I live. But the winner of a race has these things as well, even if that winner wasn’t the one going for the Triple Crown.
So, I must say that I was VERY annoyed by the fact that the press did not run up to the winning horse and jockey right after the race. No, they went up to Big Brown who was the candidate for the Triple Crown and asked, “What happened?” COME ON! Go to the winner and give them chance to bask in the glory of the victory that they earned and deserve.
I hate the freaking press and it’s coverage of things like this. “Let’s not celebrate the victories of life, no, let’s revel in the losses,” seems to be their attitude. Why oh why can’t they celebrate? Why can’t they focus on the positive? What is wrong with this world?
So CONGRATULATIONS Da’ Tara, Alan Garcia, Nick Zito, and WinStar Farms! (Which, oddly enough, I think my dad used to work for their telco business years ago)

I agree completely: it was Da’Tara’s day and win, and the story was spin out to Big Brown’s loss. That’s a bunch of crap.
